There are many styles of roller bearings, including tapered roller bearings of which there are single, double and four row arrangements. KML’s tapered roller bearings are precision manufactured in both metric and inch sizes.
Tapered Roller Bearings consist of two parts:
- the “cone” – inner ring, rollers and cage
- the “cup” – outer ring, or raceway
Standard sizes allow for a degree of interchangeability within dimensional standards; i.e. different cones with a standard width (B) fit within the same cup for that series.
Thus, cones and cups allow for a fit that satisfies the interference requirements of each particular load.
This flexibility to meet the needs of the applications make tapered roller bearings ideal for demanding radial loads, axial loads and combined loads.
REMEMBER: the larger the contact angle, the greater the axial load capacity.
