KML Bearing USA Taper Roller Bearings are manufactured to KML specifications in ISO9001 and TS-16949 certified facilities. The Taper Roller Bearing (TRB) are designed with a taper so that the planes of the axis of the rollers and planes of the bearing surface of the inner and outer rings converge at the same point. The rollers are guided by the rib on the back face of the cone. A single-row taper roller bearing can support a combined radial and axial load. The TRB is a very robust design for accommodating high loads, but they tolerate almost no misalignment in application.
Taper Roller Bearings are separable into the components… outer ring, inner ring and roller assembly. The outer ring is called the ‘cup’ and the non-separable inner ring and roller assembly is the ‘cone’. The outer cup, inner cone and rollers are produced using vacuum degassed 52100 bearing steel. These components are heat treat hardened to produce a durable wear surface on the rollers and raceways. KML uses cold rolled steel for roller retainers.
