The R3BO style of insert bearing has the same features and benefits as the standard UC Set Screw Lock Series insert. The R3BO option insert bearing has the additional features of triple-lip seals and black oxide etch on the bearing surfaces. It features a Neoprene Triple-Lip Contact Seal designed to keep lubricant in while keeping contaminants out. The triple-lip seal provides three contact surfaces with the inner race. Between these lips two barrier channels are created that provides effective isolation of the bearing cavity from external contaminants.
The black oxide etch provides an increased level of corrosion resistance versus the standard UC insert bearing. In addition, the black oxide increases the lubricity of the bearing surface, thereby reducing friction in the rotating assembly. The R3BO style of insert bearing is effective in agricultural applications where high levels of exposure to dirt and contaminants is common. It can also be an option for field use in fruit and vegetable processing equipment where stainless steel insert bearings are not specified.
